Selous' Mongoose /səˈluːz/ (Paracynictis selousi) is a carnivore of southern Africa. It is the only member of the genus Paracynictis. It is tawny grey in colour.
This species of mongoose is found in the following countries of southern Africa: Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.[2]
Selous' Mongoose feeds on insects, lizards, frogs, birds, and small rodents. Much of its social habits are unknown.[3]
